In 1937 many ice boating clubs throughout the country were banded together into major groups, the Northwestern Ice Yacht Association (NIYA) and the Eastern Ice Yacht Association (EIYA). Ice Yacht Classifications adopted by both organizations now included the Skeeters by addition of Class E as follows:
Their was also an X Class Stern-steerer, 200-250 sq. ft. that for eastern steern-steerers that had little activity and was soon dropped.
The Northwestern Ice Yacht Association (NIYA) and the Eastern Ice Yacht Association (EIYA) E Class for Skeeters was Ruled by the International Skeeter Association (ISA) and divided into its own classifications as follows:
In 1937 the DN60 was born in the Detroit News Craftsman Shop and carries a sail of 60 sq. ft. |
